If you’d like Opal to intervene on apps and websites that are Distracting, you may do so via the “My Apps” tab. Once you’ve designated apps as Distracting, they will be automatically suggested for all Sessions, Schedules, Open Limits, and Time Limits. Additionally, you may configure your Autofocus setup so that Opal will nudge you to keep focused when you’re on these apps. To designate apps as distracting, follow these steps:
- Tap on the “My Apps” tab
- Tap on “Distracting” (in the “Apps” section)
- Tap “Add App or Website”
- Select apps/websites you find Distracting or input letters in the “Search” bar
- Tap “Save”
‼️ Please note that you may only designate five apps or websites as Distracting simultaneously.

What happened to your Block List feature?
Currently, we do not support the Block List feature in the newest version of the app. For now, you may designate apps as Distracting (using the instructions above), Always Allowed, and Never Allowed. Additionally, it’s important to mention that if you are syncing Opal with your Focus, you may use your Focus to block Distracting apps, or all apps. Currently, you are not able to customise which apps sync with your Focus beyond those two options. We aim to reintroduce the Block List feature in the future, but currently we do not have an exact timeline. Stay tuned on that front!
