Streaks and Focus Hours are intended to reward you for spending time away from distracting apps or websites on the iOS version of Opal. They are a visual reminder and reward for maintaining your focus!
How do I build my Streak on iOS?
Your Streak will build if you have an active Schedule, Time Limit, and/or Open Limit every single day of the week. It’s also important to clarify that Timers do not contribute to your Streak. Additionally, you are not required to open Opal daily for your Streak to build.
How do I gain Focus Hours on iOS?
With Focus Hours, you can see how much time you’ve spent in a Schedule. You are not required to open Opal daily for your Focus Hours to build. Here’s the breakdown:
- Every minute you spend in a Schedule adds to your Focus Hours
- Breaks are subtracted from the total
Please note that Time Limits, Open Limits, and Timers do not contribute to your Focus Hours.
Why did I lose my Streak on iOS?
If you change your devices time and/or date settings to exit your Rules early, disable Opal’s access to Screen Time in your Settings, or use Vacation Mode without setting up alternate rules to run while on vacation, your Streak will break. Similarly, if you delete Opal to get out of your Rules, your Streak will break. Finally, if you have multiple Opal accounts or have deleted the app and signed up for a new account with different login credentials, your Streak will not transfer between accounts. If your Streak breaks for any of these reasons, it is not recoverable.
...I lost both my Streak AND Focus Hours on iOS, what gives?
It sounds like you may have deleted Opal, and then signed up for a new account when you redownloaded the app. To get this sorted out, you'll need to back into the correct account. Once you’ve logged back into your correct account, any Focus Hours you earned should be reflected. However, your Streak will start over.
Please note we are unable to transfer any Focus Hours or Streaks between accounts for data privacy reasons. Sorry about that!
I want to set my Streak, Focus Hours, and Gems back to zero! How do I do that?
