Cancelling and refunding Opal Pro

How you may cancel your free trial or subscription to Opal Pro depends on where you signed up for the subscription. If you signed up via the App Store, follow these instructions. If you signed up via the Opal website (which is managed by Stripe), follow these instructions. Finally, if you signed up via email, follow these instructions.

‼️ Uninstalling the Opal app from your device will not automatically cancel your subscription.

Here's how to cancel your free trial or subscription if you subscribed via the App Store:

  • Open your iPhone "Settings"
  • Tap on your name
  • Tap "Subscriptions"
  • Tap "Opal"
  • Tap "Cancel My Subscription"

It may take up to a day for Apple to process cancellations. Otherwise, it's important to note that it's necessary to cancel your free trial or subscription more than 24 hours before your trial converts to a subscription or your subscription renews to avoid any unnecessary charges.

How to get a refund if you subscribed to Opal Pro via the App Store

Since Apple handles, collects and remits all payment details for purchases made via the App Store, only they can issue refunds. You can request a refund by following these steps:

  • Sign into reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Tap or click "I'd like to," then choose "Request a refund.”
  • Choose the reason why you want a refund, then choose “Next.”
  • Choose the Opal Pro subscription, then choose “Submit.” You can also cancel the subscription there.

Please note that it can take up to a day for Apple to process cancellations. It's also important to note that if Apple rejects your refund request our Support team is unable to assist, as we have no access to the transaction details.

I don't know what email I used to subscribe via Stripe!

I subscribed using “Hide my email”! Now what?

If the email that you used to sign up with via Opal does not work on Stripe, it’s possible that you clicked “Hide my email” when you subscribed. If that’s the case, follow the steps here to identify your email on iPhone or iPad:

  • Open your device “Settings” app
  • Tap your name
  • Tap “Sign in with Apple”
  • If you see Opal listed, tap on it

You may then input that email in the Stripe dashboard here if you subscribed via the website, or here if your subscribed via the Mac App.

If you signed up on your Mac using “Hide my email,” follow these steps to identify you email on your Mac:

  • Click on the Apple menu “”
  • Click “System Settings”
  • Click your name
  • Click “Sign in With Apple”
  • If you see Opal listed, click on it

You may then input that email in the Stripe dashboard here if you subscribed via the website, or here if your subscribed via the Mac App.

To manage your Opal subscription, we'd recommend consulting the email that you used on signup. Please search for the email with the header "Redeem your free trial of Opal: Screen Time Control" in the corresponding inbox.

If you do not see it within your inbox, please check your spam filters and ensure that noreply@revenuecat.com is added to your Safe Senders list. Once that's complete and you've found your email, please follow these steps:

  • Tap "Open app and redeem" if you do not have access
